I really want to blog about Pantone’s color of the year and believe me, I’ve been planning it for months now. But because of the hustle and bustle brought by my work, events, and quarter-life crisis, I always forget about this. Good thing I saw some Marsala post on the internet and horaaay! Now is the time for my Marsala post.
Aside from it being Pantone’s color of the year, Marsala is actually a wine that’s produced in Italy. The flavors play around peaches, vanilla beans, and tamarind, with a little hint of tobacco. I seriously adore Marsala just like I adore last year’s color which is Brilliant Orchid. There’s something elegant and classy about this brownish red color that’s actually a little comforting if you add it to your daily life.
If you’re wondering how to use this color, you’re definitely on the right page because I found five Marsala-colored things in the Philippines that you’ll surely can’t get enough.
1.) Wear a Marsala-colored top when you’re hanging out with your family or friends. This color means maturity and professionalism in every level. Plus, the string top is classy and smart so you’ll always give others an impression that you’re always on the top of your game. Pair it with pants to balance your outfit and don’t forget to accessorize!
Item Tip: Jean Lauie top from Zalora Philippines, PHP 1,695
2.) This Marsala shoes screams freedom and care-free living. Not to mention that sneakers are the best footwear in the world because it’s comfortable. So take a break with your skyscraper heels and conquer the world with your Converse, cotton tee, and shorts!
Item Tip: Sneakers from Converse Philippines, PHP 3510
3.) There are different ways to wear Marsala and include it in your daily life. One of this is by painting your nails! Gather all your girlfriends and have a sparty (Spa Party) right in the comforts of your home! My best manicure bet would be Marsala-colored nails with gold French Tip. *wink*
Item Tip: OPI Nail Lacquer from Polish Please, PHP 400.
4.) I know that prom is over but if you’re going to wear your evening gown, it’s time to pair it with a Marsala-colored Lippie. If not, you can still wear this with your everyday outfits because this complements every complexion and eye color. Take it from me, I’m a make-up artist!
Item Tip: Guillermo lipstick from Tom Ford Lips and Boys, available at mupstore.com, PHP 2,500
5.) Try this always-classy-never-trashy look. Borrow your mother’s pearls and wear it together with your pointed pumps and pencil dress. Then add a pinch of Marsala bag and classic vintage shades (hello, cat-eye!). The perfect make-up for this? the good ol’ winged eyeliner!
Item Tip: Bag from Topshop, price unavailable.
I like the fact that Marsala complements any color and it adds a lot of glam if you add this to your daily outfits. There are seven rainbow colors and there are thousands of other colors in between those seven shades. It won’t hurt to experiment a little so don’t be afraid. I hope this post helped you and inspire you to add this beautiful color in your wardrobe.
Till next time!
